Mr. Dotun Abolade started karate as a hobby in 2006 with Sensei Olusegun Akinola under whose guidance he has steadily progressed and attained his black belt (shodan) in 2010.

Since starting karate in 2006, Mr. Abolade has remained one of the most consistent karate-ka at the Magodo Karate Club and  now assists with teaching children and junior belts in the dojo. He has attended several courses under the auspices of the Nigerian Association of Shotokan Karate among which are the May 2010 course presided over by senior Karate Union of Great Britain [KUGB] instructors, Andy Sherry and Frank Brennan. In the dojo and beyond, he is constantly committed to developing a fuller understanding of all aspects of Shotokan Karate.

Mr. Abolade has shown that with consistency and dedication, it is never too late to rise to the top at any endeavour or discipline.

In addition to being a karate-ka, Dotun qualified as a legal practitioner in 2004 and has been in private legal practice ever since.
